Three years of marriage

Three years ago today we were just kids (or so it seemed), running through the streets of Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland on our way to the courthouse to get married. We had our appointment set for weeks and the day was finally here. First thing on January 9, 2014 we were to be legally married in a courthouse in Maryland. Family and friends were back home in Florida waiting to see pictures and here about the ceremony.

It went off without a hitch and the ceremony took all of a few seconds (I swear I blinked and it was over). And before we knew it we were legally Mrs. and Mrs. Rivers! We had plans to explore Washington D.C. on our way back to the hotel but it was snowing/raining and cold. Instead we spent the rest of the day sleeping and made a run to McDonald’s at 9 o’clock at night to get milkshakes. We only have a handful of pictures from that day but they’re ones that we’ll cherish forever.

The past three years have been an adventure to say the least but I’m so glad to have spent it as your wife. From me gradating college, to you joining the Army, moving to Hawaii, then moving back to the mainland a few months later, finding out I was finally pregnant, and finally adding a beautiful little girl to our family. Three years seem to have flown by and I can’t wait to see what is in store for us!

Happy three years of being married my love.

Until next time,

The Rivers Family
